In the summer of 2000 the team of lo-res conducted a workshop in association with cym and with some support from ASCII in Holland to help people take advantage of free software platforms and applications for their personal use. This first workshop in july was soon followed by another one a month later.

Both workshops were free of charge. We wanted to provide a free way of learning as appropriate to the spirit of free public license software. Despite the success and positive resonance we did not schedule another workshop for more than a year. We do have to earn some money once every while and generally are a bunch of busy people. Now, finally, we are glad to announce that we all found the time to do another workshop for people who want to take off into the world of free software.
